All the lonely people, where do they all belong?

I haven't posted anything about the Beatles.  They aren't exactly my favourite group, but they have some amazing songs.  By far Eleanor Rigby is my favourite Beatles' song.

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

I almost want to cry after hearing this song.  When most people listen to this song, they only pick up the chorus, which is still sad, but it is in the verses that the true tragedies are.  Nobody came to Eleanor's wedding, nor her funeral.  Nobody comes to Father McKenzie's sermon, and he is incapable of saving anyone.

And who can bear to be forgotten

I recently watched a movie where David Bowie played as a prisoner of war, the movie was Merry Christmas Mr Laurence, it was such a good movie....  One of the lines that was pointed out is when David Bowie says in his prison cell, "I wish I could sing...", for thoses of you who haven't heard a David Bowie song, here's a few for you from his album Let's Dance, he CAN sing.

Ricochet
Like weeds on a rockface waiting for the scythe
Ricochet - Ricochet
The world is on a corner waiting for jobs
Ricochet - Ricochet
Turn the holy pictures
so they face the wall
And who can bear to be forgotten
And who can bear to be forgotten
March of flowers - March of dimes
These are the prisons, these are the crimes
Men wait for news while thousands are still asleep

Dreaming of tramlines, factories, pieces of machinery
Mine shafts, things like that
March of flowers - March of dimes
These are the prisons, these are the crimes
Sound of thunder, sound of gold
Sound of the devil
breaking parole
Ricochet - It's not the end of the world
Sound of thunder, sound of gold
Sound of the devil
breaking parole
Ricochet - Ricochet
These are the prisons, these are the crimes
Teaching life in a violent new way
Ricochet - Ricochet
Turn the holy pictures so they face the wall
And who can bear to be forgotten
And who can bear to be forgotten
March of flowers, march of dimes
These are the prisons, these are the crimes
Early, before the sun,
they struggle off to the gates
In their secret fearful places
they see their lives
Unravelling before them
March of flowers, march of dimes
These are the prisons, these are the crimes
Sound of thunder, sound of gold
Sound of the devil
breaking parole
Ricochet
it's not the end of the world

But when they get home,
damp eyed and weary
They smile and crush their children to their heaving chests
Making unfulfillable promises
For who can bear to be forgotten

Criminal World
You never told me of your other faces
You were the widow of a wild cat
And now I know about your special kisses
And I know you know where that's at
I guess I recognize your destination
I think I see beneath your make-up
What you want is sort of separation
This is no ordinary
This is no ordinary
(ah, ah, ah)
What a criminal world
The boys are like baby-faced girls
What a criminal girl
She'll show you where to shoot your gun
What a typical mother's son
The only thing that she enjoys
Is a criminal worl
Where the girls are like baby-faced boys

You've got a very heavy reputation
But no one knows about your low-life
I know a way
to find a situation
And hold a candle
to your high life disguise
You caught me kneeling
at your sister's door
That was no ordinary stick-up
I'm well aware just
what you're looking for
I am no ordinary
I am no ordinary
(ah, ah, ah)
What a criminal world
The boys are like baby-faced girls
What a criminal girl
She'll show you where to shoot your gun
What a typical mother's son
The only thing that she enjoys
Is a criminal world
Where the girls are like baby-faced boys

Modern Love
I know when to go out
I know when to stay in
Get things done

I catch a paper boy
But things don't really change
I'm standing in the wind
But I never wave bye-bye

But I try, I try

There's no sign of life
It's just the power to charm
I'm lying in the rain
But I never wave bye-bye

But I try, I try

Never gonna fall for
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions
God and man - no religion
God and man - don't believe in modern love

It's not really work
It's just the power to charm
I'm still standing in the wind
But I never wave bye bye

But I try, I try

Never gonna fall for
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions
God and man - no religion
God and man - don't believe in modern love
Modern love - walks beside me
Modern love - walks on by
Modern love - gets me to the church on time
Church on time - terrifies me
Church on time - makes me party
Church on time - puts my trust in god and man
God and man - no confessions
God and man - no religion
God and man - I don't believe in modern love

Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love
Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love, Modern love

Modern love - Modern love, walks beside me
Modern love - Modern love, walks on by
Modern love - Modern love, walks beside me
Modern love - Modern love, walks on by
Never gonna fall for
Never gonna fall for

Let's Dance
Let's dance put on your red shoes and dance the blues

Let's dance to the song
they're playin' on the radio

Let's sway
while color lights up your face
Let's sway
sway through the crowd to an empty space

If you say run, I'll run with you
If you say hide, we'll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower

Let's dance for fear
your grace should fall
Let's dance for fear tonight is all

Let's sway you could look into my eyes
Let's sway under the moonlight,
this serious moonlight

If you say run, I'll run with you
If you say hide, we'll hide
Because my love for you
Would break my heart in two
If you should fall
Into my arms
And tremble like a flower

Let's dance put on your red shoes
and dance the blues

Let's dance to the song
they're playin' on the radio

Let's sway you could look into my eyes
Let's sway under the moonlight,
this serious moonlight

I LOVE DAVID BOWIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take my word I'm a Madman don't you know

It's been a while... I've been busy with school and work.  I'm keeping above 95% in all subjects (besides french laguage arts 20... T_T).  Enough about that, if you are reading this, it's not my life you want to hear about, it's (most likely) about what song i will post after such a long time... Here it is, Madman Across the Water, by Elton John. (please ignore the picture, this was the best recording that i could find)

I can see very well
There's a boat on the reef with a broken back
And I can see it very well
There's a joke and I know it very well
It's one of those that I told you long ago
Take my word I'm a madman don't you know

Once a fool had a good part in the play
If it's so would I still be here today
It's quite peculiar in a funny sort of way
They think it's very funny everything I say
Get a load of him, he's so insane
You better get your coat dear
It looks like rain

We'll come again next Thursday afternoon
The In-laws hope they'll see you very soon
But is it in your conscience that you're after
Another glimpse of the madman across the water

I can see very well
There's a boat on the reef with a broken back
And I can see it very well
There's a joke and I know it very well
It's one of those that I told you long ago
Take my word I'm a madman don't you know

The ground's a long way down but I need more
Is the nightmare black
Or are the windows painted
Will they come again next week
Can my mind really take it

We'll come again next Thursday afternoon
The In-laws hope they'll see you very soon
But is it in your conscience that you're after
Another glimpse of the madman across the water

I have so many songs i want to post, but i have no time what so ever, so instead of talking about them, i'll post the song and the lyrics and let you explore the possibilities.  Now and then i'll go on a rant, but for now you won't hear much of me.  Enjoy!

I wrote my new song on a five dollar bill

I was planing on posting an Elton John song, but this song started playing on my mp3...
I forgot about how much I loved this song  when I was little... I still do!
"Five Dollar Bill" by the Corb Lund Band is more of a funny song.  The whole song is about this one song he wrote, on a five dollar bill, that he worked so  hard on, but then he was robbed and lost the song.  He's doing all he can to find that dirty little double dealing, son-of-a-gun-of-a song stealin', chicken eatin' thief.  Technically Corb Lund is considered country, but they don't have a country twang so it's all good! : )

I wrote my new song on a five dollar bill
But I won't be able to sing it until
I get hot on the trail for to pick up the track
Of the dirty little thief and get my five bucks back

I first got the five dollars from a Montana man
When he come across the line with a pistol in his hand
He said gimme all your money but I got to his first
And I took his Colts too and the whole first verse

You see you couldn't buy liquor in the States back then
So we saddled up the ponies and we loaded up the gin
Rode underneath the shadow of the grande Old Chief
To git some northern Rocky Mountain kinda tax relief

You couldn't count on the cattle when the market got down
And the veterinary bills to the doctor in town
Both kids needed shoes and they had to get fed
And a big old bank lien was over my head
CHORUS

They wouldn't stop talking about Canadian rye
Bouquet and the palate and it's crisp and it's dry
In a Seagrams bottle, tasted mighty top shelf
I said "well, thank you very much, sir, I cooked it myself"

Of course, that didn't wash with the boys down south
Judging by the stream of color coming out of their mouth
Though I can't figure why, cuz from where I stood
It got 'em just as damn drunk as any store bought would

CHORUS

Well, he come stormin' cross the border with six or eight guys
Some damn fool saw fit to deputize
But there weren't no sheriff nor a marshall in sight
I guess the lawman was up drinkin' whiskey all night

He said gimme all your money but I got to his first
And I took his Colts too and the whole third verse
But he picked my back pocket; worked the five bucks loose
I had tucked in behind a can a Copenhagen snoose

CHORUS

The dirty little double dealing, son-of-a-gun-of-a song stealin', chicken eatin' thief
And get my five bucks back

I know it's a different style than I normally post, but I hope you enjoy it!  Sorry but I don't hav e much time again, bye!

In the stillness of remembering what you had, and what you lost

Maybe I should post more.
Just Maybe.
I'm too lazy.
I'm sorry, I'll build more enthusiasm!
...
Not happening right away.

Today I chose a song from Fleetwood Mac and their album Rumours.  The music for the song truly compliments the title, "Dreams", as if you're half dozed off and all there is is a soothing voice.

Now there you go again
You say you want your freedom
Well who am I to keep you down
It's only right that you should play it the way that you feel it
But listen carefully to the sound of your loneliness
Like a heartbeat, drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had, and what you lost
what you had, and what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
They say, women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean you'll know
You'll know

Now here I go again, I see the crystal vision
I keep my visions to myself
It's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams and
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell,
Dreams of Loneliness, like a heartbeat drives you mad
In the stillness of remembering
What you had, And what you lost
What you had, oh what you lost

Thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
They say, women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean you'll know

Oh thunder only happens when it's raining
Players only love you when they're playing
They say, women, they will come and they will go
When the rain washes you clean you'll know
You'll know
You will know
Oh oh oh you'll know

Info from here:

  • During the sessions for Rumours, everyone in the band was going through a breakup (Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham with each other, John and Christine McVie with each other, Mick Fleetwood with his wife) and doing a lot of drugs. They were able to work together, but most of the songwriting was on an individual basis. Stevie Nicks wrote this in the studio next door, where Sly Stone was recording. He had a big, semicircular bed and red velvet all over the walls - a great vibe for a song about dreams.
  • The line "Players only love you when they're playing" was probably directed at Lindsey Buckingham. Nicks was not pleased when he brought "Go Your Own Way" to the sessions, which was clearly about her.
  • This was Fleetwood Mac's only #1 hit in the US.
  • Stevie Nicks told Q magazine June 2009 that this was a different response to Buckingham's frank broadside to her in "Go Your Own Way." She explained: "It was the fairy and the gnome. I was trying to be all philosophical. And he was just mad."
  • In 1998 a Todd Terry re-mix of a cover by The Corrs peaked at #6 in the UK. The Irish group originally recorded the song for a Fleetwood Mac tribute album. Mick Fleetwood, who is a fan of The Corrs, had asked them to record it.
  • Stevie Nicks recalled to The Daily Mail October 16, 2009: "I remember the night I wrote 'Dreams.' I walked in and handed a cassette of the song to Lindsey. It was a rough take, just me singing solo and playing piano. Even though he was mad with me at the time, Lindsey played it and then looked up at me and smiled. What was going on between us was sad. We were couples who couldn't make it through. But, as musicians, we still respected each other - and we got some brilliant songs out of it."
... I don't know what to say for my rant, all seems to be said and done, so I'll leave you with the "Go Your Own Way".

Until next time!

I know I Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet

I thought that I'd be exhausted, but 8.5 hour shifts aren't so bad.  In fact, yesterday went by quite quickly (even if Kate, the duchess, didn't come by to buy something... but their entourage bought them some fruit cups!!!!).  I'm sure one other blogs you've heard similar stories of the Duke and Duchess, but take a look at this picture that my brother I took!  Yes I was working the whole day and I managed to duplicate myself to see them.

Yes, my brother I am so short that the angle is like so.  You got a problem with that?

Now for today's post I was going to do something with the B-52's, but considering who is appearing in the post, I decided to reconsider.

So instead it't BTO with "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet", the song that (unintentionally) made them famous.

I met a devil woman
She took my heart away
She said, I've had it comin' to me
But I wanted it that way
I say that any love is good lovin'
So I took what I could get mmh, mmh, mmh
She looked at me with them brown eyes

And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something that you're never gonna forget
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
And you're thinkin' you ain't been around, that's right

And now I'm feelin' better
Cause I found out for sure
She took me to her doctor
And he told me of a cure
He said that any love is good love
So I took what I could get
Yes I took what I could get
And then she looked at me with them big brown eyes

And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something, here's something that you're never gonna forget, baby
B-B-B-Baby, you know, you know, you know, you just ain't seen nothin' yet
You need an education, got to go to school

Any lovin' is good lovin'
So I took what I could get
Yes I took what I could get
And then, and then, and then she looked at me with them big brown eyes

And said, You ain't seen nothin' yet
Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
Here's something, here's something
Here's a lover you're never gonna forget, baby
B-B-B-Baby, you just ain't seen n-n-n-nothin' yet
You ain't been around
You ain't seen nothin' yet, that's what she told me
She said, I need an education, go to school

I know I ain't seen nothin' yet
I know I ain't seen nothin' yet, mmh, mmh, mmh
I got something for you right now
Feels good, alright, how do you do that
But I ain't seen nothin' yet
But I deserve it one of these days
Woohoo, but I ain't seen nothin' yet
I ain't seen nothin' yet
Yeahyeahyeahyeahyeahyeah
I ain't seen nothin' yet
I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait
If you want to show me what I ain't seen, where I ain't been
Lalalalalala
Owowowowowowo

Song facts from here:
  • Randy Bachman didn't intend to release this with the stuttering vocal. He sang it with the stutter to make fun his brother, Gary, who had a speech impediment. During microphone checks, he would sing it with the stutter and recorded a version that was to give to Gary. His record company liked it a lot better than the non-stuttering version, so that's the one they released. Eventually, Gary stopped stuttering.
  • The lyrics led to rumors that this is about herpes. It is not.
  • The title is grammatically incorrect. It is a double-negative.
  • This came about when the band was playing a jam session in the key of "A." "Takin' Care Of Business" also came out of a jam session, but that one was in the key of "C."
  • Bachman's inspiration for the intro/verse melody was Dave Mason's "Only You Know and I Know." (thanks, ant - Belleville, Canada)
  • Since they didn't think this take was going to be released, they considered it a scratch track to get the sound correct in the studio. The band didn't even tune their instruments for it. It was released while they were on tour and later had to be remastered to hide the fact that the instruments were not in tune. (thanks, Joel - Bowie, VA)

Unfortunately I have no more time today, so there's no personal opinion of this song other than I like it.  I hope you do too!

I'll give you eyes of blue

I don't have much time, but I'll post something.  I'm sorry that I've neglected my blog, but I was attending the national IKGA summer camp (International Karate-do Goju-kai Association).  It was a huge success!  And guess what?!?!?!?!  My home town hosted the camp and I myself designed the t-shirts!

Enough about myself, now for today's post I have chosen a song that is unique and most likely you've heard of if you know the artist (if you don't, go die in a hole).  The Song is "China Girl" by David Bowie from his album Let's Dance.

I found these song fact from this web site (this is becoming one of my favourite sites...)

·  In this song, the singer warns the China girl that he will destroy her culture by imparting Western values of materialism and superficial beauty. It can be argued that the song is about heroin addiction, as "China White" is slang for the drug.
·  Iggy Pop wrote this with Bowie. It first appeared on Iggy's 1977 album The Idiot. The song did not see commercial success until later performed by Bowie. Iggy Pop was a very influential musician, but he didn't sell a lot of albums and was often low on cash. The proceeds from this gave him some financial stability for the first time. (thanks, Angelique - Allentown, PA)
·  Stevie Ray Vaughan is the lead guitarist on this song and most of the album. Bowie discovered him after seeing him at a music festival. Bowie got him to play on his album and asked him to tour with him, but Stevie surprisingly declined. He believed in his group Double Trouble and thought they could make a go of it on their own. (thanks, Scotty O, parts unknown).
·  Bowie's version was produced by Nile Rodgers, and was much more slick than Iggy Pop's version.
·  The video was banned in many countries, but it went over very well on MTV. It won the first ever award for Best Male Video at the 1984 Video Music Awards. New Zealand waitress Geeling Ng was chosen by Bowie to play his object of affection. She is now a TV presenter. Ng recalled to Q magazine June 2009: "David was my idol. When I met him, it was terrifying. But he was very easy to get on with." She added: "David and I started dating soon afterwards, but I didn't enjoy the lack of privacy."
·  In the video, Ng has a beach romp with Bowie. She told Q magazine: "Can I point out, contrary to popular belief, David and I did not have sex on the beach! It was shot at 5am; the water was freezing and wasn't a great lubricant and we were being watched by a film crew and joggers passing by. Not very romantic."

Here are the lyrics for the song:

Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl
Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl

I could escape this feeling, with my China Girl
I feel a wreck without my, little China Girl
I hear her heart beating, loud as thunder
Saw the stars crashing

I'm a mess without my little China Girl
Wake up in the morning. Where's my, little China Girl?
I hear our heart's beating, loud as thunder
I saw the stars crashing down

I'm feelin' tragic like I'm Marlon Brando
When I look at my China Girl
I could pretend that nothing really meant too much
When I look at my China Girl

I stumble into town just like a sacred cow
Visions of swastikas in my head
Plans for everyone
It's in the white of my eyes

My little China Girl
You shouldn't mess with me
I'll ruin everything you are
I'll give you television
I'll give you eyes of blue
I'll give you a man who wants to rule the world

And when I get excited
My little China Girl says
Oh baby just you shut your mouth
She says... shh
She says... shh
She says
She says

And when I get excited
My little China Girl says
Oh baby just you shut your mouth
And when I get excited
My little China Girl says
Oh baby just you shut your mouth
She says... shh
She says

Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl
Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl
Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl
Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl
Oh oh oh ohoo little china girl

In this song, it is quite evident that he is in love with her, but he is scared that he'll "ruin everything [she is]" (verse 6).  He's scared that not only her culture will be ruined, but also her pure chinese beauty will be tainted by his american genes (as in for children).  Her values will change as well, because he knows deep inside he only a greedy "man who wants to rule the world".  He loves her, but he is scared to ruin her.  Although he fears this, his china girl tells him not to worry, to not fret over that.

I hope you like the song!

If I only could, I'd make a deal with god

Work...
I'm so tired...
I've eitther biked or walked everywhere for the past few days...
the weather is getting worse...
My rice turned out too salty...
I'm going to enjoy my soft bed...
-_-

Now to more important things, today's post!  I thought that I'd talk about the song I chose for day 19, "Running up that hill" by Kate Bush. (yes I am Canadian and it IS spelt favourite)

It doesn't hurt me.
Do you want to feel how it feels?
Do you want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me?
Do you want to hear about the deal that I'm making?
You, It's you and me.

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
Say, If I only could, oh...

You don't want to hurt me,
But see how deep the bullet lies.
Unaware, I'm tearing you asunder.
Ooh, There is thunder in our hearts.

Is there so much hate for the ones who love?
Tell me we both matter don't we?

You,
It's you and me,
It's you and me who won't be unhappy.

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
Be running up that building.
Say, If I only could, oh...

You,
It's you and me,
It's you and me who won't be unhappy.

Come on baby, come on darling
Let me steal this moment from you now
Oh come on angel, come on come on darlin'
Let's exchange the experience oh...

And if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems...

Say if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems...

Say if I only could,
I'd make a deal with God,
And I'd get him to swap our places,
Be running up that road,
Be running up that hill,
With no problems...

Say, If I only could...
Oh...
Be running up that hill,
With no problems...

If only I could,
Be running up that hill...

There are many ways to interpret this song, going as far from simply relationship issues to female orgasms(?!?!?!?!).  Look here to see all the different point of views.  They are all good and most are well defended.  I like one from another site about the relationship issues where Kate wants to switch places with her partner so he can understand how he is hurting her (not the revenge one).  I also agree with the one featuring Kate being dead and her partner suffering to the loss of his loved one (from the first site given).  I think that there isn't one simple meaning to this song because of it's depth.  Shallow songs are easily explained, others are deep, vast and complex.

I hope that you like the song!

Leave me something to breathe!

Hello!  I'm sorry that I don't post enough....
It was a nice day...
I was at the beach yesterday...
I was walking around shooping and biking today....
I also did some gardening....
Where I live you have to suck up all the summer possible because it's winter for nine months of the year...
I CAN'T SPEND ALL MY TIME ON THE COMPUTER!!!!!!! >.<
So if I don't post as much for the next two months, you understand why.

Anyways, today I chose a song from my day 10 post, A Song I Fall Asleep To.  I can fall asleep to them not because they're boring, but rather because they're soothing.  The song from the post that I'm going to talk about is "Breathing" by Kate Bush.  When I first heard this song, I thought that it was so beautiful, much like Kate's other songs on her albums.  I soon learnt that this one like others have very dark meaning to them.  If a child in her mother's womb was capable of speaking, this is what she would cry out if her mother was a smoke addict.  The toxic fumes from the cigarette makes it's way to the child, smothering her completely.  She is incapable of breathing.  The is nothing TO breath but smoke.  She wants to be able to breath.  She wants to live.

Outside
Gets inside
Through her skin.
I've been out before
But this time it's much safer in.

Last night in the sky,
Such a bright light.
My radar send me danger
But my instincts tell me to keep

Breathing,
("Out, in, out, in, out, in...")
Breathing it in,
Breathing my mother in,
Breathing my beloved in,
Breathing it in,
Breathing her nicotine,
Breathing it in,
Breathing the fall-out in,
Out in, out in, out in, out in.

We've lost our chance.
We're the first and the last, ooh,
After the blast.
Chips of Plutonium
Are twinkling in every lung.

I love my
Beloved, ooh,
All and everywhere,
Only the fools blew it.
You and me
Knew life itself is

Breathing,
("Out, in, out, in, out...")
Breathing it in,
Breathing my mother in,
Breathing my beloved in,
Breathing it in,
Breathing her nicotine,
Breathing it in,
Breathing the fall-out in,
Out in, out in, out in, out in,
Out in, out in, out in, out...
("Out!")

"In point of fact it is possible to tell the
("Out!")
difference between a small nuclear explosion and
a large one by a very simple method. The calling
card of a nuclear bomb is the blinding flash that
is far more dazzling than any light on earth--brighter
even than the sun itself--and it is by the duration
of this flash that we are able to determine the size
("What are we going to do without?")
of the weapon. After the flash a fireball can be
seen to rise, sucking up under it the debris, dust
and living things around the area of the explosion,
and as this ascends, it soon becomes recognisable
as the familiar "mushroom cloud". As a demonstration
of the flash duration test let's try and count the
number of seconds for the flash emitted by a very
small bomb; then a more substantial, medium-sized
bomb; and finally, one of our very powerful,
"high-yield" bombs

"What are we going to do without?"
Ooh please!
"What are we going to do without?"
Let me breathe!
"What are we going to do without?"
Ooh, Quick!
"We are all going to die without!"
Breathe in deep!
"What are we going to die without?"
Leave me something to breathe!
"We are all going to die without!"
Oh, leave me something to breathe!
"What are we going to do without?"
Oh, God, please leave us something to breathe!
"We are all going to die without"
Oh, life is--Breathing.

Another dark side to this song seems to be about nuclear after maths.  Perhaps a nuclear war took place either recently and life is quickly, or it's been years and people are still suffering.  It could also be the after maths of a n explosion that let off some radiation, but was too small to be considered a nuclear bomb.  All the same, people are suffering no matter the size of the explosion is.

I hope you like the song!

Moi qui suis dans mon rêve, t'entends ma chérie? (Day 30)

Here's something a bit different for the last post of this challenge, last year I went through a faze where I listened to A LOT of J-POP.  J-POP is Japanese pop music, and I mostly listened to Kanon Wakeshima.  Here is the song that I liked the most

Here are the lyrics in English, the words in quotations are sung in French, the rest is Japanese:

Lolitawork Libretto
"I in my dreams"
A girls mechanism
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Of a music box
"I in my dreams"
In a picture book
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Waits for her

It's a crescent moon tonight
The scent of peppermint
Softly, the city lights
Adorn the lace dress
The dripping moon
Drops into darkness
Stops time

"The girlish mechanism of a clock's been stolen"
「Is the girl in her?」
"Turn back time"
「Listen carefully to the music box」

A magical carriage stops before her
What kind of world will it take her to?

"I in my dreams"
A girls mechanism
"My beloved, can you hear me?"

Of a music box
"I in my dreams"
In a picture book
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Waits for her

"Hurry"
Meaningless play
"Silence"
A waltz that buzzes in my ear
"Help"
A fantasy from which there is no return
"Stop!"
She can't hear
"Wake up"

A sky sparkling with diamonds
A castle of vanilla cream
The speed of the wheel quietly
Make a noise on the rails of the clock's second hand
A magical country spreads before her eyes
What world will she become a part of?

"I in my dreams"
A girls mechanism
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Of a music box
"I in my dreams"
In a picture book
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Is her

"I in my dreams"
A girls mechanism
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
The hand of the clock
"I in my dreams"
In a picture book
"My beloved, can you hear me?"
Remains unmoving

"Hurry"
Meaningless play
"Silence"
A waltz that buzzes in my ear
"Help"
A fantasy from which there is no return
"Stop!"
She can't hear
"Wake Up"

"Hurry"
Meaningless play
"Silence"
A waltz that buzzes in my ear
"Help"
A fantasy from which there is no return
"Stop!"
She can't hear
"Wake up"
Wake Up

「Wake Up」

I hope you've all enjoyed the songs that I've posted for this challenge.  You'll see them again in greater depth sometime soon, until then, see you all later!!!!!!

Day 29 - A Song From My Childhood

I'll get right to the point because I don't have much time, and I want to finish this challenge!  A song from my childhood, "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young.  That's the first one that came to mind.

Cinnamon Girl
I wanna live
with a cinnamon girl
I could be happy
the rest of my life
With a cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Ten silver saxes,
a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes
and waits between shows
For his cinnamon girl.

A dreamer of pictures
I run in the night
You see us together,
chasing the moonlight,
My cinnamon girl.

Pa sent me money now
I'm gonna make it somehow
I need another chance
You see your baby loves to dance
Yeah...yeah...yeah.

I'm almost done the challenge!  I hope you enjoy the songs that I post!

Day 28 - A Song That Makes Me Feel Guilty

...
I'm sorry that I haven't posted lately.
Exam are done now!
I was able to dig out my computer from underneath my school supplies.
And I still can't think of anything for this post...
...
A bit of a fail...
Gah!  I can't think of anything so I'll just post a song that I like!

Hummingbird -- Wilco
His goal in life was to be an echo
Riding alone, town after town, toll after toll
A fixed bayonet through the great southwest to forget her

She appears in his dreams
But in his car and in his arms
A dream can mean anything
A cheap sunset on a television set can upset her
But he never could

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

His goal in life was to be an echo
The type of sound that floats around and then back down
Like a feather
But in the deep chrome canyons of the loudest Manhattans
No one could hear him
Or anything

So he slept on a mountain
In a sleeping bag underneath the stars
He would lie awake and count them
And the gray fountain spray of the great Milky Way
Would never let him
Die alone

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird

A hummingbird
A hummingbird

I love this song!  I hope you do too!

Day 27 - A Song You Wish You Could Play

Sorry that I didn't post yesterday... I was studying for my social studies exam (that I wrote today) and then I had Karate.
I can't think of any songs that I want to play, at least nothing comes to mind at the moment.
...
*thinks hard*
I know!  "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica!  On acoustic guitar!  (learning guitar slowly on my own)

Nothing Else Matters
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

I hope you like it!
